About my cooking
I've been experimenting with different styles of cooking since I could safely reach the stove. Some of my fondest memories are of baking cookies with Mom or collaborating with my brothers to make the holiday meal.

I have worked in kitchens from prep cook on a cruise ship to manager of a historical kitchen. In my days in the restaurant industry, I mostly worked in the front of house, but I loved the occasional opportunity to cross-train and especially loved the expeditor role, overseeing the flow from kitchen to table for the whole house.

I am familiar and comfortable with allergies, vegetarian and vegan diets, and religious diets. I accommodate requests.

I really enjoy the opportunity to use whole foods and local produce, make things from scratch, and always have a project up my sleeve. I think of food as medicine, sustenance, and an important way to connect with our loved ones and our bodies.

I cook a lot from the New York Times Cooking blog, and various cookbooks and recipes I've collected over the years. I cook a diverse array of cuisine. I love trying new things in the kitchen and am familiar with many obscure ingredients. I also make ghee, applesauce, and a wonderful fresh mozzarella-esque farmer's cheese.

In the colder months, slow-cooker meals are great. I can get it started earlier in the day so it's ready when you get home from work. I can also just prep the ingredients for you to cook or pop in the oven later. I can also be available to fully cook and serve dinner (or lunch) for your family.
